DIY No Sew Pillow Cover

My mom recently gave me a couple of pillows that she didn't use anymore so I decided to try and cover them to use on my couch!

I don't know how to sew, so I bought some Heat n Bond and fabric then got to work. 

You'll need: 

                                      an iron                                                              a no sew fabric adhesive 

                         Some fabric and a pillow... I used 5/8 of a yard to cover a 20x20 pillow.

1. Make sure your fabric is right side up or "pretty side" up. That is the side that your adhesive is going to go on. Measure out how long of adhesive you need to only cover the edge of half of your fabric length. { Make sure the bumpy side is facing down and is as straight as you can get it }

2: Iron on the adhesive. Follow the directions on the back of your adhesive package. Mine said only hold the iron on for 2 seconds.

3. Let the adhesive cool and bond completely to the fabric. Once that is done you can peel the paper part of the adhesive off.

4.  Fold over the rest of your fabric so that the other half can bond with the adhesive side to make a seam.
Now the "wrong side" should be facing up.

5. Iron the both edges together so that they bond and create the seam. My directions told me to hold the iron on there for around 5 seconds. 

6. Let it cool completely. Turn the pillow case inside-out. You should be left with one open end so that you can fit the pillow in. 

Here's a close up of the seam. 

7. Stuff the pillow inside being mindful of the seams. I went kinda slow to insure that the seams don't come apart. 

8. Fold the extra fabric in and place the adhesive strip on.  

{Be mindful of where to put the strip so that you don't leave too much of a gap between the seam and the pillow}

9. Follow through with directions just like before. Make sure to push down on the pillow so that the two pieces of fabric do not separate while you are ironing. This part was very tricky for me. 

After I was done ironing, I put something heavy on top so that the edges wouldn't come apart.

There you have it! A super easy and cheap way to cover a pillow without sewing! Altogether this project costed me around $10.00 and I still have a ton of left over Heat n Bond. 

I bought the other pillow cover on Etsy and I really want more! I think I found the exact fabric at Joann's so I think I will make a couple more of each pattern to brighten up my couch ;)

Fall Decor!

I'm learning that I am not really a writer...as much as I want to be, I'm just not and that's not a bad thing. I enjoy taking pictures and posting them on here but I always feel like I have to write some elaborate explanation after each one which in turn makes me not excited about blogging at all. So, guess what...I'm going to make this blog MINE. I am done trying to imitate what every other blogger does, which thank God I am because hello?! That's not called creativity which is what this is all about! 

 I am probably going to make grammatical errors (pretty sure I did already...), I'm not going to be consistent on what I blog about, I won't probably make you feel like I have it all together and my life is a fairy tail, and most of all I will not elaborate and spend hours trying to paint you a picture with words when I can just show pictures instead!

 So get ready....Here is my little Fall Home Decor Tour in pictures and not a lot of words! ;)

DIY Stuffed Fabric Pumpkins

White Pumpkin Burlap Fabric Banner Listed in the shop HERE!! 

I honestly had no idea what to do with this mantle and have already changed it twice. I will probably change it again because I kinda just threw those little things up there but I am super happy with the LOVE sign up there that Kyle made me when we were dating :) 

This little mercury glass vase totally reminded me of something Pottery Barn has and I got it for $10.00 from Hobby Lobby! I saw blogger feature it in her home with this wheat so I HAD to go get that baby and bring it home!  The "A" is also from there. It's a cardboard letter that I painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. 

Ok so This isn't fall decor but I am in love with this little corner of my living room. I purchased this chair from the Goodwill and painted with with my Annie Sloan Chalk paint in Provence. Originally it was for a photography shoot prop but my living room was a little monochromatic so I decided to add touches of turquoise starting with this chair! 

I ordered the chevron pillow here from Etsy. It came in a set of two and I already want to order more!  They are so cute and brighten up my brown couch. 

I made the cover for the round pillow out of cream broadcloth. It was super easy and I'm actually quite proud of it :) 

More wheat decor in the dining area. 

Love the rustic look it brings to the room and I love how it looks in the cute white pitcher from Target. 

Banner was a spur of the moment idea...It will be listed in the shop soon! 

Fabric Pumpkin Framed Art DIY

Last but not least, a new wreath! It probably only costed me about $8.00 to make! Thank you coupons! 

So there it is! Fall decor for 2014...I will probably still add and re arrange things but that's that majority of what I made this past weekend while my hubby was working! Hope you get inspired to decorate your home this upcoming fall season...It doesn't have to cost much!

Office Furniture

It's almost time to fill the room with furniture!! I cannot wait (and my back can't either). Crafting on the floor is not such a great idea. 

I found these chairs on o.co. They are a little too expensive for me right now but I loveeeee them. I am looking for a tufted chair in the style. I was thinking of getting two. One for my computer desk and one for my crafting table. 

 Here is the crafting table I want!  It's called the Linnmon/Alex from Ikea and it's $112.98. 

I love that its just simple and white but it also has extra storage drawers which I desperately need! 

The Kallax shelving unit also from Ikea. I believe its $139.00. 

I can't wait to fill it with a ton of cute pink and gold items to make it look so cute and bring my theme together! 

These are called the Kassett boxes. The one's I plan on getting are 13x15x113/4". Extra storage for fabric, finished garlands, paint, etc. Oh and they are only $9.99 for a 2 pack! 

Here is another storage box I have been eying. It called the Kvarnvik. They are a little more pricey at $16.99 a piece but they sure are cute!! Plus I'm sure they would last longer than the Kassett....We will see! 

I couldn't find links to the sites where these photos came from...sorry!...but I love the frames above each desk. I believe that will be what I do above my desk too. I think the white frames are the Ribba frames from ikea which I plan on checking out. 

So I have lots to purchase for this new little office/crafting sanctuary of mine. I'm really excited to start decorating and taking pics along the way. I'm also thinking of relaunching this blog as well with a whole new look. I might look into a custom design with Aubrey Kinch. So If you don't hear from me, that will be the reason why!

We Moved!

I am happy to announce that Kyle and I have moved into our new condo! 

Sorry for the absence! We still are getting settled in and unpacking our boxes... Oh and my craft room/office is coming together exactly how I wanted! The color scheme is peach, white and gold with a touch of mint. I will get more furniture in a couple weeks as well as make a cute garland to hang above my desk!  I'm so excited to share all of our painting and decor pictures but for now, here's a little something to show you how the craft room is coming!

Office/Craft Room Inspiration

So today Kyle and I are going house and apartment hunting and we have officially decided that we need at least a two bedroom...the reason?...I get a craft room/office!! I am beyond excited! 

I know that I probably shouldn't get my hopes too far up because I'm sure I won't be able to paint or do too much to the space.... but I'm just so happy to get a space specifically for making new designs for my Etsy and have an actual place for our computer. 

Here's what we've been workin with:

I've been doing some pinning lately and here's some inspiration that I found for the new space: 

So I really love pink and  gold but we will see what it will actually look like...fingers crossed that wherever we end up lets us paint or just has white walls! 

I need a new way of storing my fabric as well and came across these ideas that I love! 

Just adds so much color to the room! Since it does add more color to store it that way, I might not do the gold and pink.

 Going to look at a place today! Praying first, that God's will will be done but I really would love to find something relatively soon! I'm slightly impatient ;)

Touches of Turquoise

Ok so I go through phases...I like something for a month or so and then I'm pretty much over it and stuck with the remainder of my past obsession. 

Heres a list of past obsessions:

-Everything white. White dishes, white bedding, white towels....

-Painted, up-cycled furniture

-Up-cyled home decor

-Anything Pottery Barn

-Cabin Decor

-Red accents

Now it's turquoise. I love anything turquoise! I am hoping that this will stick because I've liked it for quite a while but right now I am just LOVING it! 

I made this cute little stand for all of my little sink necessities a couple days ago and love how it turned out! 

I picked up this adorable chalk board label, small cookie jar from Target last week! They have a lime green one that's a little bigger that I want to get too....I love that they remind me of Anthropologie. 

(That's another fad obsession that I sometimes have....Anthro-esk style. Colorful and modern yet rustic.)

I originally made this sign to put on my Etsy site. I haven't sold it yet and it was just staring at me with its adorable turquoise-ness. I figure if anybody wants it, i'll just have to make another ;) It looks way too cute on my coffee bar!

I'm pretty sure this color is called Dutch Blue. We live in an old house built by Kyle's great grandparents. They were from Holland and for some reason all of the Dutch landed here...so we live in what I would consider a Dutch community...I love it! 

The inside of our cabinets are painted with this color and I think its so cute! Oh and check out how many plates we have. I think we have close to 12 and they are all white! Remember that white obsession? Well I still slightly have it and I am in love with my white dishes cabinet. 

This doesn't exactly match with the whole turquoise thing but I still love white and antique decor. I pulled out this adorable pitcher today and filled it up with cucumber water for Kyle and I. 

For some reason on the weekends, we wake up with headaches and tend to not drink enough water throughout the day so I figured this would help.

Last but not least... I added a new wreath to the With Love Kenzie Ann Etsy shop! I am totally obsessed with it! I decided to keep this one for myself but custom orders are being excepted! 

The turquoise chevron just makes me super excited for Spring and Summer! I mean come on...Burlap and Chevron! My favorite!!
